Unlock savings and future-proof your business in 2023

Western Alliance for Greenhouse Action (WAGA) is a western Melbourne alliance made up of seven member Councils.

WAGA’s mission is to lead and support collaborative action to decrease greenhouse gas emissions and increase the resilience and adaptive capacity of its communities through partnerships between local communities, government, industry and research bodies in order to create liveable communities now and for the future.

Each WAGA council is responding to climate change issues within its municipality, but the transitions also present challenges and opportunities for action at a regional scale.

WAGA members believe that strong collaboration between stakeholders is necessary to ensure that the region’s communities and businesses thrive in a future global low carbon economy.

The group looks forward to helping businesses in our region understand the easy steps you can take to become more efficient, cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

Why work with us to review your energy needs?

Lower your energy bills; Boost your productivity; Gain a competitive edge; Cut carbon emissions

Many businesses can achieve savings simply by comparing their energy supply options.

It’s important to compare your energy bills and pricing every 6-12 months to make sure you get the most competitive price. A recent government analysis found that on average, small businesses are saving up to $1100 per year after using the Victorian Energy Compare tool.

Did you know that Derrimut-based food manufacturer Langdon has installed a large solar energy system (430 kWh), saving them $120,000 per year? These savings exceed their loan repayments by 33%.

CEO Chris Langdon says, “I now have peace of mind that a certain portion of my energy bill will not be affected by any increases in energy bills, and that gives me a lot of confidence when planning for the future of the company.”

There are also plenty of incentives for smaller installations, such as the Solar for Business program, which offers rebates for businesses that employ 1-19 staff and would like to install a PV system up to 30kW.

If you are interested in becoming more sustainable and reaping the many benefits please get in touch through the WAGA Business Support website.
