Stay cool on Caroline Springs Boulevard this summer
Melton City Council completed the installation of an additional shade structure on Caroline Springs Boulevard this week.
A total of 31 new umbrellas will ensure that customers stay cool while enjoying great food, coffee and drinks.
If you are a regular visitor to this website you may remember that we reported on new place-based signage, that put a splash of colour and vibrancy onto previously grey, concrete traffic barriers on Caroline Springs Boulevard.
Both the precinct signage activation and umbrella installation, were fully funded by the State Government Covidsafe Outdoor Activation Fund.
Overall this program delivered over $200k of semi-permanent and permanent upgrades across Diggers Rest (pop-up park), Hillside (lighting at Hillside Shopping Centre), Melton (Amphitheatre upgrades, deck chairs and new digital screen) and Caroline Springs (signage & shade structures).
When we visited Caroline Springs Boulevard this week traders were excited that the additional umbrellas were installed prior to the holiday season.
“The new umbrellas look fantastic,” said Joseph Fadlallah from Blue Marlin Fish n Chips.
“We do high quality fish and chips, new school burgers and poke bowls and we get really busy, especially when the weather is nice. Our customers will love us having a few extra spots in the shade.
“Bring on summer!”
Bakhtavar Singh, owner of Supps 247 has been trading on Caroline Springs boulevard for a few months.
He says, “Having the new umbrellas is great, I am keen to see how I can use them to promote my business, maybe offer some product samples and do promotions outside to draw more customers into my shop.”
