Strategic Position Attracted Tesla Energy and T2 Tea to the City of Melton
The City of Melton’s potential as a key investment destination has been further reinforced, as Tesla Energy and T2 Tea join representatives from Dexus and the City of Melton to celebrate the completion of two new cutting-edge facilities in Ravenhall.
This event marks a significant milestone in the region’s growing reputation as a strategic destination for businesses focused on sustainability, innovation, and agility to succeed in a rapidly changing economy.
The event provided a great opportunity to learn about both businesses, their alignment on sustainability and to meet with members of their teams and other stakeholders from government and the private sector.

City of Melton Mayor, Cr Steve Abboushi said that large developments such as Horizon 3023 are a real asset for our local community.
“They create supply chain opportunities at a grassroots level, and importantly, deliver sustainable and valuable local jobs for our residents, and the importance of jobs growth in a community such as ours cannot be understated.”
While Tesla is best known for its electric vehicles, Tesla Energy products are a key part in achieving the organisation’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
The Tesla Energy team produce and install infinitely scalable clean energy generation and storage products that help customers further decrease their environmental impact.
Josef Tadich, Regional Director Tesla Energy APAC, explained in his speech that in addition to having a strong and agile development partner in Dexus, the location of the Ravenhall site provided a strategic advantage.
He said significant renewable energy projects in Western Victoria and the proximity to the Melbourne Renewable Energy Hub (MREH), which features 444 Tesla Megapacks, enough to power 200,000 homes during the evening peak period, were key factors in the site selection process.
With a dedicated area on-site for technician training the Ravenhall site will play a critical role in servicing MREH and other projects in Australia and the APAC Region.
Tesla Energy’s state-of-the-art facilities and T2 Tea’s sustainability-focused operations are expected to generate significant job opportunities and stimulate local economic growth. The businesses' investment in workforce development will also provide long-term benefits to the region’s skilled labour pool, driving future opportunities for startups and large enterprises alike.

T2 started in 1996, priding themselves on doing tea differently. From small beginnings in Fitzroy, T2 now comprises a fast-growing online store, a welcoming support office in Collingwood and over 70 retail stores across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
Vinayak Shenoy said that T2 and Tesla Energy were fitting as neighbours in the estate as the two organisations share a strong focus on sustainability.
T2 is certified as a B-Corp, meaning the business meets the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.
