New Cobblebank Shopping Centre Opens Doors Next Week
Coles will create approximately 100 new local jobs in the Cobblebank community on Wednesday 19 May when it opens the doors to its brand new, state-of-the-art supermarket.
The store forms part of the new multimillion-dollar Cobblebank Village Shopping Centre – a brand new shopping destination for Cobblebank and Melton residents.
Along with the Coles Supermarket and Liquorland, the Centre will offer 18 specialty stores, a 450 square metre first-floor gymnasium and parking for 317 cars.
The centre also features a wide range of retailers including Jetts Fitness, Direct Chemist Outlet, Clean Streak Laundry, Big Bite Pizza, Cobblebank Fish & Chips, The Indian Bazaar by Kumar Sweets, Cobblebank Luck and Gifts, Reliance Real Estate, Will’s Nails, Parkwood Green Medical and Dental, Kinky Kebabs & Burgers, Brown Cow Café, Tik Tock Hairdressing and My Touch Mobile all expected to be open in May and June 2021. Around 65% of retailers will be in place when the doors open on 19 May.
Coles Cobblebank Store Manager Nilay Haylaz said the supermarket would be the first in the area to feature a premium mochi, mini gelato and macaron bar, as well as a pick-and-mix pet food bar.
The store will offer an expanded range of convenience meals, a brand-new open scratch bakery where fresh flatbread will be flipped daily and a modern deli with an expanded range of local and imported cheeses.
Coles Online will also available, allowing customers to order their groceries online and save time by picking them up from a new Click&Collect drive through, conveniently located next to the shopping centre.
Coles Cobblebank will champion sustainability, with doors on most fridges, solar panels on the roof and a carpark part-made from recycled plastic. The store will also reduce waste through partnerships with food rescue organisation SecondBite, and soft plastic recycler REDcycle.
As part of Coles’ commitment to the Cobblebank community, the store has donated $5,000 to Springside Primary School to help fund a Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden at the school to promote healthy eating.
“After months of construction, we’re excited to be launching our new look store to Cobblebank residents and creating more than 100 new local jobs in the process,” Nilay said.
“We look forward to delivering a new shopping experience for Cobblebank with the latest modern supermarket features.”
Cobblebank Village Shopping Centre, located at 211 Ferris Rd, Cobblebank, opens its doors at 9am, Wednesday 19 May.
