Local food showcase nominated for Main Street award

Westside Crawls, a series of progressive-style food events held across the west earlier this year, has been shortlisted for a 2021 Main Street Australia award.

Led by Western Melbourne Tourism, the collaborative project involved Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, the cities of Maribyrnong, Moonee Valley, Melton, Wyndham, Brimbank and Hobsons Bay - along with 41 businesses. 

Six local venues – Izumi Caroline Springs, Priya Indian Cuisine - Caroline Springs, Fancy Things, Latin Foods and Wines, Pad Thai Melton and Simply Indian Melton were proud participants in the two City of Melton crawls, showcasing local offerings to 40 attendees from across the west.

The project is a finalist in the category of ‘Best COVID-19 Response in a Main Street’, with the winner to be announced later this year.

The Mainstreet Australia Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of the people, programs and organisations that ensure the ongoing success and survival of our main streets.
