Woodlea Town Shopping Centre at full strength by June

The majority of tenants are expected to be open and trading at the new Woodlea Town shopping precinct by June this year.

Developers are working with 22 supporting retailers to open their doors over coming months, following the launch of landmark tenant Coles on March 4.

Designed to mix shopping centre convenience with a modern street-based shopping format, the $45M Woodlea Town precinct will include specialty retailers such as a fresh food grocer, Indian supermarket, 24-hour gym, lotto and news, a beauty and nail salon, and eatery options including a café, pizza, Indian restaurant and a large family restaurant/function space.

A health precinct will include a medical centre with pathology services, pharmacy, dentist and physiotherapy.

The 3690-square metre, market-style Coles supermarket features the latest fit out, an in-store bakery, a continental delicatessen and a Liquorland, supported by a 350 space car park.

Coffee shop, Culpa Espresso is the first retailer to join Coles in opening its doors at Woodlea Town.

It’s all a welcome boost in amenity for Woodlea locals, with the closest supermarket previously a 15-minute drive away in either Melton or Caroline Springs.

Woodlea is a 711-hectare, master-planned community, which will accommodate around 20,000 residents upon completion. The population is currently just over 6,000.

Community amenity includes six parks, a medical centre, pharmacy, private childcare and Council community hub with 350+ childcare/kindergarten places, smart learning hub, social enterprise café, adventure park and a 10-hectare sporting precinct.
