Raise your profile as a VET Champion through State Government Initiative

Are you a VET Champion? The state government wants to showcase high-achieving Victorians who have risen to success through a vocational (VET) pathway. VET Champions will inspire secondary school students to broaden their understanding of VET pathways and the opportunities they provide.

Who is a VET Champion?

Nominees can include those who:

  • have completed a VET pathway — either at school or after school

  • love their career and want to help students, teachers and parents learn more about the opportunities that VET pathways can bring

  • are in an entry level or established role in their field and can connect with high school students and their aspirations. This includes people who have had successes and setbacks along the way

 Showcasing VET Champions

VET Champions will have the opportunity to be showcased through:

  • involvement in high-profile events on a statewide or local scale, which may include speaking at events, participation in panel discussions, and engagement with secondary school students, teachers and parents

  • digital case studies published on the Department of Education and Training’s website, highlighting their career path and their employer

  • social media, Q&A articles, brochures and resources for schools

VET Champions will be supported at every stage of the initiative, including with specialised training in public speaking and media relations.

Nominees do not need to be strong public speakers before becoming VET Champions.
