Investment Spotlight: Opalia Shopping Centre

The Opalia Shopping Centre is the centrepiece of the Opalia residential development in Weir Views, located approximately half way in between the Melton Town Centre and Eynesbury.

Anchored by a Woolworths supermarket and with confirmed tenancies including Chemist Warehouse, Kool Kidz Childcare, Anytime Fitness, KFC and McDonalds the shopping centre will feature over 20 speciality retail stores and have parking for over 630 cars.  Construction on the shopping centre is well advanced with completion expected in late 2020. View the construction progress video below.

While there is nothing new about McDonalds opening up stores, this one in Opalia will mark a significant milestone as it will be the 1000th store opened in Australia.  It will also be the group’s first flagship sustainable store with recycled materials being used for construction and fit-out, fibre-based cutlery and straws used by patrons, and the store to be powered by renewable energy.

The fact that McDonalds has chosen this location for this significant milestone is testament to the confidence that investors have in the long-term potential of the area as it continues to grow rapidly.
