The distribution centre, at 90 Melbourne Drive, targets a 5-Star #GreenStar rating with a range of sustainability features including rooftop solar, the use of timber products during construction and rainwater collection for irrigation.

New Aim CEO and company founder, Fung Lam expressed his excitement about the opening on LinkedIn this week.

“Not only is our New Aim warehouse the pioneer in Stockland’s massive 260ha Melbourne Business Park, but we're also the very first user in this industrial hub,” he said.

“And guess what? Soon we'll be rubbing shoulders with some big names like DHL, Makita, and many more! Let's keep the momentum going and soar even higher!”

New Aim’s story is a fairy-tale of entrepreneurial instinct, vision, skillful execution and taking calculated chances along the way, resulting in a fast growth trajectory.

Fung Lam, who defines his management style as “humble leader”, says staff happiness, putting the right people in the right places, learning from mistakes, seeing competitors as mentors and understanding both data and human behaviour, are key elements of his business philosophy.

He says the business plans to operate its “business-to-many” model from their new site, partnering with more than 40 Australian online marketplaces and omnichannel retailers to dispatch goods to business customers and direct consumers across Australia.

The New Aim warehouse will also be stocked with the company’s own products ranging from furniture, gym equipment, bedding and power tools.

Melton City Council Mayor, Cr Lara Carli said at the ribbon cutting that with a current population of around 200,000, and a growth rate of 6.42 per cent, the city’s population is projected to grow to around 440,000 by 2051.

“Our proximity to Melbourne’s CBD, airports and port, affordable land, and young skilled workforce, mean’s our city is an increasingly appealing location to establish or expand a business.”

She said many leading global brands are now calling the City of Melton home.

“It makes perfect sense that Stockland and partner Mt Atkinson Holdings are developing Melbourne Business Park here in Truganina.

“With its entrepreneurial pedigree, New Aim is a great fit for our city, with our young demographics. Many aspiring entrepreneurs may benefit from New Aim's business solutions and services and be inspired to dream big.”

On completion Melbourne Business Park will be one of the largest master-planned industrial precincts in Melbourne’s West, with a 260ha footprint and total value of $2B once fully developed.
