Revitalising Melton South and Scott Street

The recent $100,000 funding received by City of Melton from the Department of Jobs Precincts & Regions via the Neighbourhood Activity Centre Renewal Fund (NACRF), has had some great results in supporting hospitality, retail and professional services businesses in two of our oldest retail precincts, Melton South and Scott Street, Melton.

Melton City Council engaged a retail and branding specialist consultant to work one-on-one with local traders on branding and other improvements to enhance the customer experience in the areas and contribute to the long-term sustainability of the businesses.

Other improvements included a lighting upgrade and a mural arts project in Melton South, along with a series of activations and updates to the shopfront roller doors in Scott Street.

When comparing community feedback on these two precincts from 2020 and from 2022, there are noticeable increases in the perceptions of safety, appearance and overall satisfaction.
