The Harrison family are true Melton local heroes.
Six generations of Harrisons have called Melton home, and they are proud to support a community that means so much to them. For the past 60 years the family has owned a growing range of automotive businesses in the town.
Grant Harrison - eldest son of Keith and Joan - is the Dealer Principal of the jewel in the Harrison crown, Melton Toyota.
Melton Toyota began as part of the family’s High St Service Station back in 1973.
In the early ‘80s the business had blossomed and moved to the site currently occupied by the Harrison Motoring Group.
By the early 2000s, the Toyota business was on the move again to its current location on High Street. This year will see development of that site nearly double the size of the business, making Melton Toyota one of Australia’s largest Toyota dealerships.
Over the last 48 years Melton Toyota has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to local sporting groups, community causes, environmental groups, and fundraising events.
Grant Harrison says the business has a strict buy-local-first policy.
“No matter what we need, staff must first look for a local supplier before looking outside the town,” he said.
Melton Toyota also has an employ-local-first policy.
“Over 90% of our staff live within a 20km radius of the dealership,” Grant said.
“Melton Toyota are locals serving locals and your satisfaction is our priority.
“In fact, we have twice won Toyota’s coveted President’s Award, and are Melbourne’s Most Recommended Toyota Dealership, having achieved the title in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, and looking strong for 2021!
“As we look to the future, we see our guests at the heart of everything we do, and our new building will greatly assist us in meeting the needs of the town.
“We will be providing our Toyota Certified Preowned guests the ability to view their vehicles from the comfort of a brand-new dedicated showroom.”
Other services to be housed in the new building will be a dedicated Guest Experience Delivery Centre, photo room with turntable for capturing the best online images, a professional paint oven, on site window tint centre, automatic car wash, electric recharge stations and more.
“It has always been our aim to have guest satisfaction at the centre of everything we do,” Grant said.
“Our new facilities, set to open in December, will strengthen our resolve to always deliver the best to our guests.”
