In our final instalment of the Conquering the Crisis video series we speak to Bargain Box Fabric’s Susan Robertson.

Bargain Box Fabrics is an institution in Melton and Susan has owned the business since it opened in 1995 .

So it comes as a surprise that just a few years ago Susan’s biggest challenge was trying to sell the business. She had decided if a new owner wasn’t found by March 2020, the business would close in the middle of that year.

But then COVID hit. Forced to close the doors, Susan welcomed website and phone orders and was surprised to see her team busier than ever.

It was then she realised: she just couldn’t disappoint her loyal customers. The business stayed open.

At the time of writing, the business was still for sale!
