Big Robots, Small Business

If you’ve ever considered integrating robotics and automation into your business but don’t know where to start, Shane Gallagher and his team at M.A.P Services are waiting for your call.

M.A.P Services is located in Ravenhall and works with clients to provide robotic system solutions including welding, machine tending, palletising and quality inspection.

These systems are designed and installed to help businesses thrive and grow: automation can improve the safety of your business whilst also lowering the manufacturing cost of your products and increasing the efficiency of your production.

After years of experience in the automation industry, Shane founded M.A.P Services over 10 years ago as a robotic service company primarily working with auto industry manufacturers such as Toyota, Toyota Boshoku, Futuris and Holden.

However, when the car industry announced its exit from Australia, Shane pivoted the business into a robotic integration company which now sees itself as the Australian representative of leading robotic manufacturers such as OTC Daihen (the No.1 selling robot welding system manufacturer worldwide), Shibaura Machine (leading supplier of SCARA and compact 6-axis robots) and Han’s Robot (the largest range collaborative robots and mobile robots).

Shane says he still enjoys the fascinating and always-evolving field but his key interest is in assisting with real-world problem solving for his clients, showing customers the potential of robots and how they can help in business.

“As a company that prides itself in the ability to problem solve and adapt, we sure had our work cut out for us, Shane said.

“The challenge to locate new markets, create new relationships and just generally think outside the box is something myself and my team love!”

Shane has also branched M.A.P Services into the school community through the M.A.P Services incursion program.

In this program his team takes real industrial collaborative robots into schools to give students hands-on experience with real robotics.

“Though it’s still new to the company it’s one of the best parts of our work,” Shane says.

“It’s great inspiring students’ creativity and thirst for knowledge through STEM.”

Shane’s team has collective experience of over 60 years of knowledge, and that’s important in helping customers create the right concept to deliver a solution that will meet or exceed expectations.

“As we always tell our customers, the only thing that limits you in robotics is your imagination,” Shane says.

M.A.P Services pride themselves on their end-to-end integration and service covering 4 main phases:

1.       Free initial consultation

2.       System concept, design and build

3.       Installation and commissioning

4.       Post installation support, training and servicing.

If you have a problem you’d like to discuss to see whether robotics is the answer, contact Shane and the team anytime on 1300 172 272 or visit their website www.mapserv.com.au.
