Vaccines and the Workplace – What do you need to do?

Employers and employees are seeking clarity on their workplace rights and obligations as COVID-19 (coronavirus) vaccines become available in Australia. The FairWork Ombudsman has provided information and guidance in response to common questions we’ve received about coronavirus vaccinations and the workplace.

The information provided is high-level and general, so employers and employees should consider getting legal advice about their own particular circumstances.

The FairWork Ombudsman provides answers to questions such as

  • Requirement to vaccinate;

  • Refusal to be vaccinated;

  • Employee attendance at the workplace; and

  • Supplying evidence of vaccination

Safe Work Australia also provides information in regards to the Covid Vaccine as it relates to individual industries. The Covid19 Vaccine National Roll-out Strategy supports industry and employers to understand which phase they will fall under.

Cross the T provided a recent article on the Top 5 Considerations for Returning to Work in a “COVID NORMAL” Way.
