Open for Business Campaign – Supporting City of Melton Businesses

Open for business newspaper ad.jpg

More than 700 business advertisements have featured in Melton City Council’s Open for Business Campaign which commenced shortly after the first Stage 3 shutdown measures were announced in late March 2020.

Each week City of Melton businesses have been able to promote their business for free in the two local Star Weekly newspapers.

In addition to the newspaper ads, participants have also been able to promote their businesses through the Melton City Much More App (MCMM App) and Facebook page. With nearly 10,000 downloads, the MCMM App is a powerful platform to promote local businesses. While initially set up to promote the local things to see and do, the App has been opened up to allow a broader variety of local businesses another place to connect with the local audience. The App also puts out regular ‘push notifications’ to users to remind them of the updated offers.

Similarly, the MCMM Facebook Page has evolved, and is now promoting a wide range of local business offerings.

So, if you are still able to operate under Stage 4 restrictions we encourage you to take advantage of this free promotional opportunity. The feedback from businesses that have participated has been overwhelmingly positive. Council has committed to continue the promotion until at least the end of Stage 4 restrictions so there is still time to get involved.

How to get involved

The process is very simple. Just click on the Expression of Interest (EOI) form link below and fill out your businesses details. You’ll need to supply your business logo, or a relevant image, but other than that Council will take care of the design and your ad will be scheduled.

Preference is given to businesses that are able to provide a special offer or discount, and the feedback from participating businesses to date has been that ads with an offer usually get more interest.

Complete EOI Form.
