Business EOI: Benefit from the Meet Our Employers program
Meet Our Employers is a new, joint program by the Community Activation and Learning and the Economic Development teams at the City of Melton. It has been developed from community feedback collected via a range of recent community engagement initiatives.
The program aims to connect the strong interest within our community in the local economy, and the desire of local talent to gain a better understanding of employment trends and related employability skills, with local organisations that are going through a period of growth, expansion or have recently established themselves in the area.
Melton City Council is currently seeking expressions of interest from relevant medium to large size enterprises that wish to participate in this program. The program will be delivered via organised Zoom meetings facilitated by Inderdeep Thapar from council’s Community Activation and Learning team.
Did you know that more than 60% of labour force participants living in our municipality commute to workplaces outside of the City of Melton?
Connecting with and attracting our local talent is a great opportunity for businesses, not just to give back and respond to community needs during challenging economic times, but also when it comes to improving staff retention.
During our Meet Our Employers zoom sessions you will have an opportunity to introduce yourself and your organisation via a 20 minute presentation. This should include a short overview of your company and its operational wings in its current state, as well as providing an overview of future projections and job profiles in evolving, in-demand sectors within your organisation, or within your industry more broadly.
We encourage you to promote yourself as an employer of choice and share with our community what your organisational values are, and in turn, what you believe, makes a person a good candidate to join your business. For example, what are key qualifications, skill sets, personal attributes and work experience that you consider during your recruitment process? What are relevant transferable skills that you value?
Following your Meet Our Employers presentation there will be a 15 minute Q&A session with our participants as well as process to collect post-event feedback from participants, which our team will collate.
The feedback will be shared with you and you are welcome to use this as testimonial within your communications channels to demonstrate your strong community engagement efforts to your stakeholders.
At the same time Melton City Council will also be requesting the employer to share their experience on the Meet Our Employers program to then be able to share your feedback within our networks.
We are looking for forty-five minutes of your time that can benefit the community and your business immensely.
If you are interested and would like to promote your organisation as part of our Meet Our Employers series, tap into our local talent pool and build a labour force that is local, flexible yet easy to retain, and committed to you and your organisation, please contact:
